In the past month or so, I've been experimenting with Ilford Delta pro 100 and 400.
As an amateur/hobbyist that was new to the art form, I didn't really know the difference between Ilford's film offerings other than ISO rating, so I jumped in and tried them all. Hi I have a Leica M3 and trimx b&W 400 film but I only have 500 on my film dial what do I put it on 500 ? Ilford HP5 was the first b&w film I've ever used and immediatly fell in love with it. Ilford HP5 Plus is an ISO 400 rated, traditionally grained, black and white negative film that’s available in standard 24 and 36 exposure 35mm rolls. Kodak Tri-X 400 is known for its classic grain structure, great contrast with deep blacks and pure whites, while Ilford HP5 PLUS 400 has less contrast with a subtle grain and very pleasant tones. Last min of the wash was in distilled water.The Delta 400 has much more detail in the shadows. Slightly darker overall exposure even though I cut the development time by 15 seconds in an attempt to make the ISO 125 closer to ISO 100 which should have brightened it a bit more. Delta series is for professionals because it has that word in its name and therefore it must be betterI have been shooting with Ilford films for about 3 years upon my return to film photography.

It has other advantages in my view. The tonal rage is great .
