Donald Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, has called for barring all Muslims from entering the United States.
The ACLU-WA filed a class-action lawsuit in federal court in the Western District of Washington challenging President Trump’s ban on travel by people from seven Muslim-majority nations.

Instead of having a so-called “temporary pause,” the president has instituted an indefinite and potentially permanent ban.The ban bars citizens of Chad, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Syria, and Yemen from securing immigrant visas, which result in lawful permanent resident status, or a green card, including family-based and employment-based visas. Although Muslim Ban 3.0 does ostensibly contain a provision under which individuals may be considered for waivers, the way the Trump administration has implemented this provision makes clear that the waiver process is, in the words of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer, merely “window dressing” — a mechanism intended to keep people out, not to let them in.
