Other than not knowing how to find our way out, it was perfect for her first hike.Simple, easy hike. It says difficult BUT my 3yr old and 6yr old did it easily. It was a hot day but plenty of shade throughout.Varied terrain,well-marked trail, clean park.Nice trails. We saw dear, several snakes and hawks. Very well maintained park and trails.Took my daughter for her first hike as a test to see if she would enjoy hiking. This city park offers a variety of fun camping options such as 30 & 50 amp RV sites and tent camping, cabins, and even a house. A few oak trees are interspersed, and the trail makes it to a few open viewpoints looking out over more open rangeland and hills adjacent to the park boundary. The paths were shaded and easy to stop, rest and snack under some trees. Deer are plentiful here, bring a hat and water as shade from the juniper trees comes and goes, leaving you exposed to the sun at times.This is a nice out and back. My wife and I spent some time walking the trail and making memories with our grandson.There are minimal views of the river, but you can bushwhack through flood debris to find it. 2 results. Great short run, from the trailhead in Louis hays till the end of the trail. “ The trails along Lady Bird Lake /Colorado River are a great place for hiking, running, or casual walking, with or without your dog, with scenes of the waters and the city skyline beyond. Lot / Land for sale. OK for a leisurely stroll.Good mix of fast and easy and moderate. We were alone on the trails most of the time. We ended up on the moderate trails. The trail is well maintained and by and large is surrounded by thick, shrubby ashe-juniper forest, tall enough to provide some shade but short of an actual forest.
