Come work with us at A2A… Based in Calgary, Alberta, A2A also has offices in Vancouver, British Columbia, Washington, D.C., and Anchorage, Alaska.HDR will work with local contractors and subcontractors, including Quantum Spatial, and Lawson, a certified Indigenous owned and controlled surveying firm. We estimate that A2A Rail could unlock $60 billion CAD in additional cumulative GDP through 2040 and lift household incomes by an average of 40%." EDMONTON – The Alaska – Alberta Railway Corporation (A2A Rail) has commissioned engineering firm HDR to begin detailed land surveying along the Alberta segment of the railway’s proposed route to Alaska. Oft referred to as the A2A rail line, Alaska-Alberta Railway Development Corp. founder Sean McCoshen said just-in-time shippers would benefit … 846 Railroad jobs available on Indeed.com. Mead Treadwell also is working on the project as A2A’s chief operating officer. The backers of a new rail line to link Alaska to Canada and Lower 48 markets insist it would generate upward of $5 billion of freight revenue through the state.Distributed by Tribune Content Agency, LLC“This is a 21st-century project, not a 19th-century project,” McCoshen said. The project would start by constructing rail from the north end of the Alaska Railroad’s tracks near North Pole and continue south and east past Tok and Tetlin to the Canadian border for about 200 miles of new track in the state.

In doing so, Gladu moved non-Indigenous and Indigenous business and communities toward sustainable partnerships and sustained economic prosperity, A2A Rail officials said.Anishinaabe from Thunder Bay, Gladu is a member of Sand Point First Nation, located on eastern Lake Nipigon, Ontario.Gladu has considerable expertise on a wide range of Indigenous, environmental and energy issues, said A2A Rail Chairman and founder Sean McCoshen in a press release. “It is one of several long rail links being pursued around the world and one that will more closely tie the economies of Alaska, Canada and Asia.”“The possibilities are enormous, but so is the project,” McCoshen said.A2A is currently waiting on a border-crossing permit from the White House, and McCoshen thanked Gov. Most recently, Gladu served more than seven years as president and chief executive officer at the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB).
July 10, 2020 by Inside Logistics Online Staff. A2A Rail's stated goal is to commence field activities in Alberta within the next 3-6 months and to have the railway operational in the mid to latter part of this decade. A2A’s chief operating officer, Mead Treadwell, notes that the economic success of the project doesn’t depend entirely on moving oil products by rail.

A2A Rail was established to build, own and operate a railway connecting the Alaska Railroad and Alaska's tidewater to northern Alberta, Canada. Having secured funding for this critical pre-construction activity, A2A Rail and its technical team will now begin a three-month planned process of field investigation and  topographic modeling. The project is expected to generate more than 18,000 jobs for Canadian workers. Studies analyzing the feasibility of a conceptual rail line linking Alaska and Canada have looked at shipping 1 million barrels of oil per day or more through Alaska. Michael Dunleavy for advocating to President Donald Trump for its approval.“We have a good solid two years of work ahead of us at least before we can get to a final investment decision,” he said.McCoshen added that many, but not all, of the baseline impact studies have been done for the project. In June, the Alaska Railroad signed an agreement with A2A that allows McCoshen’s firm to undertake the environmental and engineering studies for the project while the state-owned railroad corporation would apply for the additional right-of-way from the state. However, McCoshen stressed in a brief interview that while oil shipments would be a part of the private rail line’s business it would be a general cargo line that “ships everything under the sun.”“Our own economic model looks at steady state revenue from export commodities in Canada of almost $5 billion per year. "The new rail line will create new economic development opportunities for a wide range of businesses, communities and Indigenous communities in Canada and Alaska," McCoshen said. The surveying process is part of an accelerated development effort that will enable A2A Rail to engage in early field activity, such as land clearing, fencing and access road preparation in Alberta within the next three to six months, they said.
